WHAT DO WE DO?

YWAM Ships Philippines

Living in many remote and isolated islands of the Philippines are indigenous and local people who don’t have access to necessities like basic medical and dental care. Food supply is scarce and elementary school is the highest level of education that they are able to reach. So many are spiritually lost, emotionally discouraged and physically exhausted.

YWAM Ships Philippines serve the needs of people from these isolated islands. In the spirit of “Bayanihan,” we bring together doctors, dentists, nurses, Bible teachers, community workers and many volunteers from various churches and local government health units to help those in need. We also bring supplies like food packs, hygiene kits, medications and Bibles donated by generous private and government agencies. We collaborate with multisectoral groups of the country that provide security as well as logistics and operational support like the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine National Police and Local Government Units.

*Bayanihan: literally means “being heroes for the community”; a spirit of communal unity and cooperation

YWAM Ships Philippines places physicians, dentists, other medical professionals and general volunteers in short-term service (usually one week long including travel days). We coordinate all the details of the assignment including:

  • Matching interests, abilities and time frame with our locations
  • Providing orientation and resources before and during the assignment
  • Assisting with necessary visas, permits, and other field requirements
  • Coordinating field housing, food and transportation
  • Assisting in handling financial details related to overseas service
